This programmatic representation of the Rougarou is broken into four continuous miniature movements and portrays the myth from the perspective of the Rougarou.
La Chasse - meant to represent the Rougarou's hunt through the Louisiana marshland. The Rougarou's howl, which can be found several times throughout the piece, is first represented by the opening grace note motif in the cello.
Valse des Cadiens - depicting the Rougarou stumbling through the bushes to discover a Cajun/Louisianais soirée. It begins with a jilted waltz that later materializes as the Rougarou gets closer, while the polytonal elements within, represent the presence and perspective of the Rougarou.
Lamentation du Rougarou - reveals the true feelings of the werewolf regarding the full moon curse. Conflicted by his/her inner humanity, the Rougarou laments to the full moon about the savage behaviors caused by the curse.
La Morsure - reveals the animalistic nature of the curse and portrays the bite!
